June 2002My first weigh in for June was on the 4th, and I had my first gain since I started Weight Watchers on February 6th. I only gained 0.2 pounds, which is really nothing, it is only a gain of 3.2 ounces. The Friday I went to a lunch for someone at work, it was her birthday and I had 2 slices of pizza and a slice of cheesecake, it was YUMMY!! On Monday night I went to a meeting for my son's school and had some really yummy dessert, so my gain was really worth it!! The week leading up to my second weigh in was stressful, my son was booked for an MRI for the 11th of June, we have waited since October for this appointment. His use of his left side is a bit delayed, and the neurologist felt it was best to test him. Blood test analysis showed that there was no chromosome abnormalities, so he wanted to do the MRI to see if all the neural pathways were formed correctly. In the days leading up to the MRI I had a major case of the nervous munchies, but I tried to stay within my points, do my exercise and I managed to do that. We were off to Toronto's Sick Children's hospital for the MRI on Tuesday morning. I had a bit of cereal before we left home, and while Alex was having his MRI David and I went to the cafeteria to have something to eat. I picked a fat-free yogurt, and a low fat bran muffin. Because Alex is young (he'll be 4 on July 18th), he had to be sedated for the procedure. He had a hard time coming out of it and it was like he was intoxicated. He threw up 5 times on the drive home afterwards, but was otherwise OK. The poor guy couldn't walk though, every time he tried to take a step, he'd collapse. Once the boys were settled with David, it was off to my meeting. I hopped on the scale and hit 218.4 ... I LOST 4.4 POUNDS!! I was shocked and thrilled, I got my fourth 10 pound ribbon. We were off to Ottawa for my parent's 45th anniversary, plus Father's Day, and had a great time. I was prepared for dinner out with a good point bank and stayed totally on program. The drive was hard as the kids wanted to snack practically the whole way, and with a 6 hour drive to Ottawa on Friday night, and a 5 hour drive home Sunday, it was tough, but I did it! Monday's weather was dicey, so I couldn't do my normal route because of the weather, so I managed to do three laps of the office complex before the rain hit. Tuesday morning I was up to bike at 6am. Felt good!! Off to the scales on Tuesday night and I lost 1.6 pounds ... YIPPEE!! My last weigh in for the month was a maintain, I exercised at lunch in the heat. And when I look back on my journal, I banked too many points .. and I know that causes a poor loss. July 2002The beginning of my 6th month had Canada day in the middle of it. It was my first weekend up to the cottage, and in order to keep the food in line we decided to eat on our own and avoid the big high calorie family means. It paid off ... my weigh loss for July 2nd was 2.6 pounds for a total of 45 pounds to date. I'm averaging 1.8 pounds a week now, so I'm still on the downswing! I LOVE THIS PROGRAM!!! We worked on finishing Christopher's room redecoration, and it looked great, so I finished off the roll of pictures and found Christopher took a great picture of me on June 23, so I've posted it on the picture page. 0.8 gone for July 9th .. on my way to 50! Well ... off to my weigh in this week, unsure what it would be, it was a stressful weekend, as we got Alexander's MRI diagnosis. But I kept within my points, I just ate them all ...so I hit the scales and I lost 2.8 pounds, I MADE MY SECOND 10%!!!!!!! WOW! Up early Wednesday morning to earn some exercise points with a 35 minute bike ride and a 25 minute walk, and again Thursday with a 35 minute ride again so we could go out for Alexander's 4th birthday and enjoy it! My second last weigh in for this month was 1.6 ... and I reached my 50 pound mark. Now my next mini-goal is Onederland (weighing one hundred and something). I'm doing it!! :) Wednesday night I picked up my bike from the shop and took it out for a test drive, I did a 35 minute ride and on the way home I decided to try and make it up the big hill on the way out of the park towards my house. AND I DID IT ... I CONQUERED THAT HILL!!! OOPS ... my last weigh in for July was a 0.4 gain, on well, only my second gain since starting on WW in February.
