December 2002

December started off quite interesting, Sunday night Alex hurt his foot, and by Monday morning he was not able to walk on it and it was swollen.  I spent Monday morning at the hospital with Alex getting it checked out.  Luckily it was just sprained.

Tuesday was my weigh in and I was expecting a gain, and was surprised to find I lost 0.2.  I am now 1.4 pounds from my 70 pound mark.  I'll be thrilled if I get it by next week.

I have also been using my new Gazelle and loving it.  It's a blast!!

UGH, TOM came early, I had a 1.6 gain ... I just can't kick into the 180's and beat that 70 pound mark, here's to doing it by the new year.

Well two celebrations in a week, Thursday the 12th was David's work Christmas party, and OUCH that meal was rough, full of heavy foods, I felt like I swallowed a lead balloon afterwards.  And Sunday was David's birthday, we went out for dinner for a family celebration.

So I paid at the scale after that with a 2.6 pound gain ... but no worries ... in the grand scheme of things, I'm still down a lot!!

December 17th was my office Christmas party, plus my weigh in day, and we were having a "BEFORE" Fashion Show at my meeting and I didn't want to miss that, so I went to that and had a RIOT!!  It was worth missing another party meal ... same type of food as David's.  One of our members came in with a Santa suit on and had layer upon layer upon layer of clothes under it, I think one for every ten pounds.  He also made his goal, so it was a major celebration!

The next weigh in for December was in Ottawa at Mum's centre.  I was surprised I had lost.  But the events leading up to that weigh in were nuts!  Wednesday the 18th was Christopher's school "Holiday" concert.  EXCELLENT!!  Friday the 20th we had Alexander's Christmas concert at the daycare, and the van went in for service to repair the rear defrost and for a winter maintenance check.

They told us the wires had come off on the rear defrost on the van and we had 2 options, to re-glue the wire or to replace the window ... but they couldn't do the second option as they couldn't get the window in.  So we went for # 1.  Then when we picked up the van we were told ... we couldn't use the rear hatch, or the rear defrost for 48 hours.  Fun when driving in the winter and leaving for Ottawa for Christmas the next day.

Saturday driving on our way to Ottawa, just down the road 10 minutes and we blow a serpentine belt on the van.  Off to a dealer to get the part, return home to fix.  Continue on our journey later that day.  Monday it was snowing in Ottawa and I had to take Mum to get her hair done, so off we go using the rear defrost.  5 minutes from home we're driving on a local street and we hear a huge BANG ... and I think we've been hit by a snowball or something, but when I look in my rear view mirror, the whole back window is shattered!!

Dealership denies being at fault, UGH!  And of course it has to be fixed, so we are off to get it repaired.  $600 later!  Monday night I bake 3 different WW goodies for our Christmas day party.

Tuesday morning Alex is bouncing on my Mum's couch and falls towards and hits his chin on a metal tea light holder, there is a 1" deep gash under his chin, off to emergency!  And at the Christmas pageant at Mum's church that night, Alex loses his balance and falls, and cuts his lip and David and I have to take him home and leave Mum, Dad and Christopher at church.

Christmas day was chaotic, but fun.  The boys got spoiled!  David had to work Boxing Day, so we took him to the train station at 5pm to head home.  Boxing day we went to my cousin's and it was nice, but very fattening foods.  Saturday I had to drive home by myself with the boys, and since I get tired really easily, I have to snack a lot while driving to keep me alert, hence my 2 pound gain this week.  But I also was bad for journaling.  I started out with the intention of doing it online, but Mum's computer was messed up.  Paper journal for a bit, but never got back to it.

Oh well ... off to a new year and a fresh start.  Since I weighed in Monday instead of Tuesday, and my next weigh in is on Tuesday, I didn't start my super journaling day until today.  I figured I'd give New Year's Eve as a treat day.  I didn't overdo it ... had some chocolate almonds, and realized that I used to eat a much bigger quantity in 1 sitting that I did last night ... and after what I had I felt gross!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
